WMSC Premier Overview

The West Morris Soccer Club Premier program was designed to provide our top-performing players an opportunity to compete at a higher level. The program offers much of the same curriculum that area private clubs offer but at a value to our club members. Professional training, enhanced playing opportunities including cup play, pre-season training, extra training sessions during the season allow our premier players to develop and prepare to become better players. The WMSC Premier program allows our premier players the opportunities mentioned above while allowing our players to still be able to play with their friends.

Program Overview

WMSC Premier is an elite program for the more committed players for whom soccer is a main, year-long, focus.

It boasts a similar curriculum to for-profit clubs and academies, with participation in top state-wide leagues, tournaments, and cups, at a more competitive price point. Open to players from anywhere in the region.

Off-season participation not required, but offered and encouraged. WMSC aims to form a travel and a premier team for each boys and girls age group, from U9 to U14/15, but this depends on the number and quality of players available in any birth year.

Professional Training

WMSC Premier offers an expanded training program over WMSC Travel, plus 1-2 weeks of pre-season training in Fall and Spring (on turf fields) and 5 weeks with a 3rd weekly practice, for a total of 43 hours per season. Goalkeeper training is also included for interested players.

Training sessions are normally 1.5 hours long, but shorten in October and November due to decreasing daylight.

League Games

WMSC Premier features 8 to 10 games per season in EDP, typically on weekends, but with a more flexible schedule than some of the county leagues like MCYSA which our travel teams compete in.

7v7 Premier teams will normally compete at the top of MCYSA instead of EDP, but that will be determinied by coaches and training staff.

Cups

Our Premier teams compete in a number of cup competitions including EDP Open Cup (all year), State Cup (Fall), and NJ Cup (Spring), and all include trainer coverage. These tournaments are single elimination format, from a draw of normally 32 teams with a maximum of 5 games per cup.

Tournaments

WMSC Premier players compete in four (4) tournaments per year, six (6) for the U14 Girls team, and three (3) for 7v7 teams. Trainer coverage is included for all of them. Premier tournaments are held all over NJ and possibly beyond.

Training sessions are normally 1.5 hours long, but shorten in October and November due to decreasing daylight.
