WMSC Travel Overview

Come join one of the largest and highest performing not-for-profit clubs in the greater Morris County area! Our goal is to create multiple teams per age group to find the right placement for your player's current level of development, while providing plenty of room to grow within the program. All of our teams are professionally trained by our partners at Cheshire Soccer Academy (CSA).

West Morris Soccer Club aims to offer its members developmental soccer opportunities in an appropriately competitive environment. Our Travel program is a great next step for those players looking for a higher competition level than recreational soccer, and it is designed to prepare athletes for their best possible experience on their high school teams. This program is ideal for players that have an aptitude for the game, but may not have the time or desire required for the Academy level, due to other sports, interests, or activities.  Tryouts typically take place each Spring, conducted by our professional training organization, and rosters are formed based upon evaluations after tryouts and from previous in-season player performance evaluations.  See below for the program outline.

Travel soccer begins with the U8 age group and continues on to U-18.

U8-U14 requires players to commit to a ten-week fall and ten-week spring season

Included in the Travel Program:

  • 2 days per week of training in both the fall and spring
  • 8 Morris County Youth Soccer Association (MCYSA) league games in both the fall and spring
  • 10 additional indoor winter technical training sessions leading into the spring season (new this year!)
  • Entry in our WMSC Highlands Cup tournament over Columbus Day weekend
  • 1 day per week of supplemental goalkeeper training in both the fall and spring

Premier Pack may be added for our highest performing teams, who are seeking to challenge themselves at the next level.

Included in the Premier Pack:

  • 3rd day per week of training in both the fall and spring
  • Increased competition with league games scheduled in the Eastern Development Program (EDP), against local for-profit clubs
  • 3 additional competitive tournaments

U15-U18 (Spring-only high school soccer)

It is anticipated that our HS players are competing with their school teams throughout the fall.  The WMSC Travel Program for HS players includes winter training and a 10-week spring season as outlined above.  Teams play in MCYSA or EDP youth soccer leagues, depending on team performance, and additional tournaments can be added as desired.
