A reminder that the new spring soccer program begins next Monday, May 3rd, at BLACK RIVER front fields. If you haven’t already, please check the WMSC website to confirm game days and times for your child(ren).
Our aim for this program is to provide each player with a fun learning environment, help them build confidence, and develop soccer skills.
There are a few items that parents can do to help us run a great program. Please take a moment to read the guidelines below and share them with any other adult that may attend the games.
1. *Be on time. Black River fields will be very busy and there will be lots of cars coming in and out of the parking lot. We only have a 10-minute transition time allotted between sessions and the trainers need to get back on the fields for the incoming group. Please be respectful of everyone’s time.
2. *Park on grassy area. Use the grassy parking area in the front of Black River and go all the way to the tree line. Players will meet near the tree line at the start and finish of each session. Look for the HS Assistants in bright yellow t-shirts.
3. *Carpool if possible. This will help alleviate some of the traffic congestion. Age group ROSTERS can be found on the website. Use your email address and the password WMSC10 to log in.
4. * Have your child in cleats, shin guards, and any long hair pulled back BEORE arriving to field. This is easier on everyone.
5. *Bathroom runs BEFORE arriving to session. Again, easier on everyone.
6. *Bring a drink for your child. They will be running A LOT.
7. *Please do not “coach” your child while they are playing. Leave the coaching to our highly qualified trainers and assistants. Again, easier on everyone and your child will appreciate you more.
8. *DO cheer your child on! Words of encouragement such as “Great job!” Great kick!”, “Nice pass!”, “GO!” are ALWAYS appreciated, (even when maybe it really wasn’t….).
9. *Refer to the website for weather cancellations. In fact, refer to the website for just about all of your questions. www.westmorrissoccer.org
10. *Remember the players are kids – Our main objective in any sport they play should be that the kids enjoy the game and beg to come out session after session! They will learn tons along the way, but each child learns at a different pace. It’s all just a game, and games are meant to be fun for all involved.
11. *Contact us with any questions, concerns, suggestions, etc – Email Annalisa at
. The trainers may not have much time in between sessions to address your questions or concerns so please do not hesitate to contact me regarding same.
